William Prince, born in 1986 in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada, is a Canadian folk and country singer-songwriter. A direct descendant of Chief Peguis, Prince moved with his family to Peguis First Nation as a boy. His father Edward was also a musician and preacher, and Prince traveled with him playing gigs in northern Manitoba. In 2015, he released his solo debut album Earthly Days, which won the Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year in 2017. The song "Breathless" reached number 22 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary charts in 2018. Prince's subsequent albums include Reliever (2020), Gospel First Nation (2020), and Stand in the Joy (2023). Notable collaborations include performances with Vince Fontaine, Don Amero, Marie-Mai, and Serena Ryder. His album Stand in the Joy won the Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the 2024 Junos.
