Biography

White Moth Black Butterfly, a cross-continental progressive pop project, was formed in 2013 with members from Nottinghamshire, UK; New Delhi, India; and Salt Lake City, Utah, US. The group initially began as a solo project by Daniel Tompkins, who later collaborated with Keshav Dhar and Jordan Bethany on the debut album One Thousand Wings. After releasing "Rising Sun" in 2014, the band expanded its lineup to include Randy Slaugh and Mac Christensen. In 2017, they signed with Kscope Records and released their sophomore album Atone, which received critical acclaim. The band's music videos for "Tempest" and "Evelyn" garnered significant attention, with the latter nominated for a Progressive Music Award in 2018. White Moth Black Butterfly continued to evolve musically, releasing their third album, The Cost of Dreaming, in May 2021.
