The Tansads were an English band from Wigan, Greater Manchester, formed in 1989. The core members included vocalist Janet Anderton and the three Kettle brothers: John (guitarist), Bob (mandolin, guitar, harmonica), and Andrew (vocalist). They debuted live on March 26, 1990. Their debut album Shandyland was released in 1991. In 1993, they released Up the Shirkers, followed by Flock in 1994 under Transatlantic Records. Notable songs include "The English Rover" (1993) and "A Band on the Rainbow" (1994). The band achieved significant local success but never managed a commercial breakthrough. They went on hiatus after 1995's live album Drag Down the Moon, returning in 1998 with Reason to Be before disbanding again.
