Biography
Wendy Shay (born 20 February 1996, in Accra) is a Ghanaian Afropop and Afrobeats singer. Born Wendy Asiamah Addo, she relocated to Stuttgart following the death of her father, later training as a midwife before returning to Ghana. Her recording career began in January 2018 when Shay signed with RuffTown Records. She gained recognition for her debut single, "Uber Driver" (2018). In 2019, she won Discovery of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and Breakthrough Act of the Year at the 3Music Awards. Her discography featured the albums Shay On You (2019), Shayning Star (2021), and Enigma (2022). Shay performed at events including Miss Ghana 2018 and Afronation 2019. In 2019, she was enstooled as the Queen Mother of Gomoa Afransi. She served as a brand ambassador for the Youth Employment Agency and was named among the most influential women in music by 3Music Awards in 2021.
