Biography

Weaves is a Canadian indie pop band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2012 by vocalist Jasmyn Burke and guitarist Morgan Waters. The duo met in a bar and began recording demo songs based on files of song ideas Burke recorded on her phone. In 2014, the band released their self-titled debut EP. Their first full-length album, Weaves, was released in June 2016 and received critical acclaim, earning a nomination for the Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year and the Polaris Music Prize in 2017. The band's second full-length album, Wide Open, was released in 2017, and was shortlisted for Alternative Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2018.
