Wat Tyler, an English punk/novelty band, formed in 1986 with Sean Forbes as frontman alongside Simon Tucker and Smithy. The group emerged from the anarcho-punk scene of the early 1980s, evolving from the band 4 Minute Warning. Their debut EP, Contemporary Farming Issues, was released in 1989, featuring "Hops and Barley", a track later covered by Leatherface. In 1993, their Madonna-parodying EP "Sexless" gained national press exposure and reached number 10 on the UK Indie Chart. The band's album, The Fat of the Band, was released in 1999. Wat Tyler disbanded in 2002 following the release of their last record.
