Warum Joe is a French punk rock, alternative rock, and post-punk band from the Paris region, formed in 1981 by Pascal Sabotier, Laurent Sabotier, Pierre Gobillon, Hervé Chevrier, and Olivier Bachelard. Initially known as Von Cochran, they signed with New Rose Records and became part of the early 1980s punk movement in France. Their debut album Dans le blizzard (1981) was followed by the albums Tanzen und trinken (1983) and Toccare la verita (1984). Their discography includes notable albums such as Allah mode (1988), La revanche de Montezuma (1990), and Au milieu de ta forme (2003). They are known for their unique style, incorporating elements from various genres and often addressing historical and social themes in their lyrics.
