War Tapes, an American rock band, was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2004 and consisted of Neil Popkin, Becca Popkin, Matthew Bennett, and William Mohler. War Tapes made their live debut in 2006, playing various venues including warehouse parties and small punk clubs. Their breakthrough moment came in 2007 when they opened for the reformed Smashing Pumpkins at the Fillmore in San Francisco. In 2008, War Tapes released their self-titled EP. The band's debut LP, The Continental Divide, was released in 2009. Notable tracks include "Dreaming of You" and "The Night Unfolds", which were featured on Last Call with Carson Daly.
