Walter Unterweger was born on September 26, 1976 in Lienz, Tyrol, Austria. He is an Austrian entertainer and short-lived singer who came to prominence in the pop and light music sector in the early 2000s. He gained fame in 2000 as a participant in the second season of the German reality TV show Big Brother, where his presence in the container brought him an audience and media attention. After leaving the show, he released the single "Ich geh nicht ohne dich" in December 2000, which reached high chart positions. In 2001, Walter Unterweger takes on a role as radio presenter Michi Derflinger in the ARD television series Marienhof, in which he can be seen until 2003. Parallel to his media presence, he continued his medical studies and obtained his doctorate in medicine in Graz in 2006. He then worked as an assistant doctor in a hospital in Berlin. He also works as an author and publisher and runs the Wimmelbuchverlag publishing house in Berlin.
