Vonbrigði, which translated to "disappointment" in English, is a punk rock band from ReykjavÃk, Iceland. The group was formed in 1980 by brothers Ãrni Kristjánsson on guitar and Ãórarinn Kristjánsson on drums, along with Gunnar E. Knudsen on bass. Shortly after their formation, Jóhann Vilhjálmsson joined as the vocalist. Vonbrigði released their debut self-titled EP Vonbrigði in 1982, followed by the album KakófónÃa in 1983. The band gained notable exposure through their appearance in the documentary film Rock in ReykjavÃk (Rokk à ReykjavÃk) directed by Friðrik Ãór Friðriksson, which also featured Björk's early band Tappi TÃkarrass. Vonbrigði disbanded in 1985 but reunited in 2004 with the addition of guitarist Hallur Ingólfsson. Their comeback album Eðli annara was released that same year, followed by Tapir in 2009 and Ã, ReykjavÃk in 2010.
