Biography
Von Thronstahl was a German martial-industrial and neofolk band that formed in 1995. The ensemble was founded by Josef Maria Klumb and Bernhard Klumb. The group emerged from the desire of Josef Maria Klumb to express European identity through music, a concept developed while he was a member of the dark-wave band Forthcoming Fire. Their debut release was the 10-inch vinyl Sturmzeit (1998), followed by their first studio album, Imperium Internum (2000). The ensembleâs discography includes the recordings Bellum, Sacrum Bellum!? (2003), Pessoa / Cioran (2004), and Germanium Metallicum (2009). They achieved notable popularity in Italy and Eastern Europe, particularly in Russia. Following a final performance in August (2010), Klumb announced the dissolution of the band in 2011. Their later releases include the studio recording Corona Imperialis (2012) and the single âMit Leoparden in den Sonnenuntergangâ (2023).
