Biography
Beaver & Krause are an American experimental and electronic music duo from Los Angeles, formed in 1966. The members are Paul Beaver and Bernie Krause. The ensemble presented the Moog synthesizer at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and released the album The Nonesuch Guide to Electronic Music through Nonesuch Records. Beaver performed on the Monkees album Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd.. The ensemble released the album Ragnarok in 1968 through Limelight Records. Following a contract with Warner Bros. Records, the duo released the albums In a Wild Sanctuary (1970), Gandharva (1971), and All Good Men (1972). The 1970 album featured the song âSpacedâ. The ensemble performed on soundtracks for the films The Graduate (1967) and Catch-22 (1970). The duo wrote the score for the film The Final Programme in 1973. Beaver died in January 1975. Krause subsequently specialized in bioacoustics and released the album Gorillas in the Mix in 1988.
