Vo Vo Tau is a Japanese R&B band formed in April 2001 and debuted in 2003, when Ryo-thing, Pei, and Sugar met at a music school in Los Angeles, U.S.A. and joined Ring upon their return. The band's sound is characterized by a fusion of live instruments, song, and technology. The band's name is derived from the three words "bow," "vow," and "taut," indicating the band's musicality, which is filled with tension and commitment. The band consists of Ring (born April 22, 1977 in Kyoto, Japan) on vocals. The first single "Naked - Nude" was released on January 21, 2004. The song reached No. 8 on the Oricon weekly chart and became the band's signature song. On March 10, 2006, the band disbanded after an event in Tokyo. After the breakup, Ring began his solo career. The other members continue their musical activities in other projects.
