ViViD, a Japanese visual kei rock band from Tokyo, was formed in March 2009 by rhythm section members Iv and Ko-Ki, along with vocalist Shin, and guitarists Reno and Ryoga. The group began their official activities with a live performance at Takadanobaba Area in April 2009. Their debut single "Take-off" reached number 2 on the indies Oricon charts and number 63 on the major charts.In October 2009, ViViD released their debut mini-album The Vivid Color, which reached number 34 on the major Oricon charts. In July 2010, they performed at Japan Expo 2010 in Paris, marking their first international performance. Their fourth single "Precious" was released in July 2010 and reached number 15 on the Oricon Weekly Chart. In August 2010, ViViD signed with Sony Music Japan's Epic Records label. Their major-label debut single "Yume Mugen no Kanata" was released in January 2011 as the ending theme for the anime Level E. Their sixth single "Blue", used as the opening theme for the anime Bleach, was released in July 2011. ViViD's first studio album INFINITY was released in June 2012, followed by notable singles such as "Message" and "Real". In February 2014, ViViD released their single "Hikari", used as the second opening for Magi: Kingdom of Magic. On January 28, 2015, ViViD announced they would disband after their final tour.
