Biography

Vishtèn, a Canadian folk music group originating from Île-du-Prince-Édouard and Îles de la Madeleine, was formed in 2004 by sisters Pastelle and Emmanuelle LeBlanc alongside Pascal Miousse. The trio initially gained recognition for blending traditional Acadian music with contemporary sounds. Their debut album Vishten was released in 2004. Vishtèn's subsequent albums include 11:11 (2007), Live (2008), and Mosaïk (2012). In 2015, they released Terre Rouge, followed by Horizons in 2018, which earned a Juno nomination for Traditional Roots Album of the Year. Following Pastelle LeBlanc's death in 2022, Vishtèn launched the commemorative project Vishtèn Connexions, culminating in the album Expansion (2024). This album featured collaborations with artists from Canada, Senegal, and Wales, and won multiple awards including Album of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards 2025. The group adopted a new trio formation in 2024 with Megan Bergeron officially joining the lineup.
