Biography
Virginio Simonelli, known as Virginio, was born on January 31, 1985, in Fondi, Italy. As a teenager, he learned to play the piano and sing, composing his first songs. In 2006, Virginio debuted at the Sanremo Festival's New Proposals category with "Davvero", which anticipated his self-titled album. In 2011, he won the singer-songwriter category of the Amici di Maria De Filippi competition. His second studio album, Finalmente, was released in 2011 and he has sold over 30,000 copies, earning a Gold Wind Music Award. In 2012, he published his third album Ovunque. He also collaborated with Laura Pausini on several tracks, including "Limpido" in 2013.
