Biography

Victor Lemonte Wooten, born September 11, 1964, in Idaho, is a legendary bass player also known as El Maestro. He began his musical journey at age two and joined his family band at five, touring with icons like Curtis Mayfield. As a founding member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones in 1990, he gained global recognition. Wooten has released numerous solo albums, earning five Grammy Awards. His Bass/Nature Camps, and Wooten Woods, a retreat center, offer immersive musical experiences. His book The Music Lesson has impacted musicians worldwide. Wooten's contributions extend to collaborations with renowned artists and his record label, Vix Records. Passionate about sharing knowledge, he lectures globally and continues to inspire through his music and teachings.
