Biography

Vermillion Lies were a cabaret band from Oakland, California, formed in 2006. The group consisted of siblings Kim Boekbinder and Zoe Boekbinder. Their music incorporated elements of circus and folk, setting them apart within the rock genre. Vermillion Lies released their debut album Separated by Birth in 2006 under A Small Tribe Records. In 2007, they followed up with an EP titled Scream-Along. The band's second full-length album, What's in the Box?, was self-released in 2008, followed by the single "In New Orleans". On August 7, 2009, Vermillion Lies announced their transition to solo careers while continuing to perform select shows together.
