French rock band Vegastar, from Orléans, was formed in 2001 by Fabien Garcia on guitar and Jocelyn Moze on drums. The group's initial lineup included Fabien âPhaabsâ Rochas as the vocalist, but they later recruited Franklin Ferrand as the lead singer after relocating to Paris. In July 2002, Vegastar began recording their debut demo, which led to performances alongside notable acts such as Pleymo and Kyo. Their first EP was released in February 2004, setting the stage for their debut studio album Un Nouvel Orage, released on September 25, 2005. This album peaked at number 53 on the French charts and featured the hit single "100ème Ãtage", which reached number 17 on the French charts in May 2006. The group continued to release successful singles including "Vivre à L'envers" and "Mode Arcade", alongside their second album Television, released on January 7, 2008. They supported major acts like Linkin Park during tours. After a hiatus following the dissolution of the band in 2009, Vegastar briefly reunited for a concert in October 2015 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Un Nouvel Orage, and then again in February 2018 for additional performances alongside Pleymo. The group's music spans genres including power pop, rock, new wave, electro, and heavy metal, solidifying their place in French rock history with notable achievements such as chart success with "Maître de ma vie" and collaborations with other prominent artists.
