Macha was an experimental post-rock band from Athens, Georgia, formed in 1996. The group consisted of brothers Josh McKay (founder/singer/multi-instrumentalist), Mischo McKay (drums/percussion), Kai Reidl (multi-instrumentalist) and Wes Martin (multi-instrumentalist). Their debut album Macha was released in 1998 on Jetset Records, reaching the top five on both the CMJ and Gavin College Radio Charts. In 1999, they followed up with See It Another Way, which held the Number 1 position on the CMJ College Radio charts for three weeks. The band collaborated with Bedhead for the mini-album Macha Loved Bedhead - Bedhead Loved Macha in 2000. After a four-year hiatus, they returned with Forget Tomorrow in 2004, expanding their sound into dance-music territories. Josh McKay later became a member of the indie rock band Deerhunter and released solo material under the name Abandon the Earth Mission (A.T.E.M.).
