Biography
Vanaprasta, an American indie rock quintet from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 2009. The group consists of Steven Wilkin (vocals/keys), Collin Desha (guitar/vocals/keys), Taylor Brown (bass/vocals/keys), Cameron Dmytryk (guitar), and Ben Smiley (drums). Their debut EP, Forming the Shapes, was released in 2010. The lead single "Color of Sin" from this EP was featured on the Download to Donate for Haiti compilation presented by Music For Relief and Causecast in February 2011. In 2011, Vanaprasta released their debut full-length album, Healthy Geometry, produced by Dave Schiffman. The album received critical acclaim and was celebrated with a month-long sold-out residency at The Satellite in Silver Lake. In November 2012, they partnered with Spotify to release Spotify Sessions, a five track EP released solely for Spotify's audience.
