Biography

Valkyrien Allstars, a Norwegian musical group, was formed in 2002 and named after the Valkyrien Restaurant in Oslo. The trio consists of Tuva Livsdatter Syvertsen, Ola Hilmen, and Erik Sollid. Over time, the lineup changed, and Hilmen later departed from the group. They typically perform with Magnus Larsen on bass and Martin Langlie on drums. In 2006, they received the Grappas debutantpris award, leading to a record deal with Heilo. Their debut album Valkyrien Allstars was released in October 1, 2007 and nominated for the Spellemannprisen in the "Newcomer of the Year" category. Known for their use of three Hardanger fiddles, Valkyrien Allstars blend folk music with elements of blues, jazz, reggae, and rock. Their discography includes notable albums such as Ingen hverdag (2011) and Farvel slekt og venner (2014). The band has performed internationally, including their first live concert in Germany at the Nordischer Klang festival in May 6, 2010.
