Vadym Kholodenko, born Vadym Tymurovych Kholodenko on Septemberâ¯4,â¯1986 in Kyiv, Ukraine, is a Ukrainian pianist. He studied at the Kyiv Lysenko State Music Lyceum and began performing internationally by ageâ¯13. In 2004, Kholodenko won the Maria Callas International Piano Competition in Athens and later continued his studies at the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, including postgraduate work. His breakthrough came with victories at the Maria Callas Piano Competition (2004), the Sendai International Piano Competition in Japan (2010), and the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund (2011). In 2013, he won the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Kholodenko's discography includes Scriabin: Preludes, Etudes & Sonatas Nos.â¯4 &â¯5 (2018) and collaborations with Andrey Gugnin under the duo name iDuo. He has performed extensively in Europe, Asia, and North America.
