U.S. Maple was an American noise rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1995 by Al Johnson, Mark Shippy, Pat Samson, and Todd Rittmann. Their first recording, a two-song 7" single featuring "Stuck" and "When a Man Says Ow!" (1995), led to their signing with Skin Graft Records. The band's debut album Long Hair in Three Stages was produced by Jim O'Rourke and released in 1995. They embarked on a European tour and recorded a Peel session for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show. They released their second album Sang Phat Editor in 1997. U.S. Maple moved to Drag City in 1999 and released their third album Talker (1999). After the recording of their fourth album Acre Thrills (2001), drummer Pat Samson left and Adam Vida joined the lineup for their fifth album Purple on Time (2003). They disbanded in 2007.
