U.P. Wilson, born Huary Perry Wilson on September 4, 1934, in Caddo Parish, Shreveport, Louisiana, was an American electric blues guitarist and singer known for performing Texas blues. Raised in West Dallas, he learned the blues from local musicians and formed a duo with Robert Ealey called the Boogie Chillun Boys. Wilson began solo recording and touring around Texas in 1987, releasing Wild Texas Guitar in 1989. He recorded five albums for JSP Records, including Boogie Boy! The Texas Guitar Tornado Returns! (1994) and This is U.P. Wilson (1995). Wilson also toured extensively in Europe and the United States. He died on September 22, 2004, in Paris, France.
