The University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors, also known as UPSA, was established at the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Philippines. The group began as a performing musical ensemble specializing in choreographed choral music and became the official choir of the UP College of Arts and Letters. Their early performances showcased a diverse repertoire including classical music, international songs, spirituals, ethnic, Broadway, pop, jazz, gospel, inspirational songs, and rock. In 2001, UPSA won the Gran Premio Città at the Concorso Polifonico Internazionale Guido d'Arezzo in Italy, marking a significant breakthrough. This victory qualified them for the European Choral Grand Prix in 2002. The group has also distinguished itself by winning three awards at the International Habaneras and Polyphony Contest in Torrevieja, Spain. UPSA's performances often incorporate cultural dances, costumes, and traditions from various regions in the Philippines, making them ambassadors of Philippine culture both locally and internationally.
