Biography

A true guitar hero inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore and classical music, Uli Jon Roth was the guitarist of Scorpions' first period. He left the band in 1978 before the release of the live album Tokyo Tapes. Uli Jon Roth then formed the Electri Sun trio, which released three albums between 1979 and 1985. Uli Jon Roth then indulged his passion for classical music, composing four symphonies and two concertos. This personal inspiration did not prevent him from joining the G3 supergroup on tour in 1998. In 2008, Uli Jon Roth released the progressive metal album Under a Dark Sky. Also creator of the Sky Guitars lutherie brand, Uli Jon Roth reinterprets his Scorpions-era songs with young musicians for Scorpions Revisited in 2015.
