Biography
Founded by rapper Hans Philip and producer Jens Ole Wowk McCoy, Ukendt Kunstner is a hip hop group formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2012. Originally called Skørmand, the duo changed their name to Ukendt Kunstner before releasing their debut single, âKøbenhavnâ and their mixtape Hælervarer in 2012. Working alongside singers Rollo and King, the group released their debut album, Neonlys (2013), which reached Number 26 on the Danish Albums chart. Ukendt Kunstnerâs second album, Forbandede Ungdom (2014) rose to Number 2 and earned them an Ã
rets Danske Gruppe (Danish Group of the Year) award at the Danish Music Awards. However, after the release of their Den Anden Side album in 2016, the group split up. After a nearly seven-year break where they both pursued solo careers, Hans Philip and Jens Ole Wowk McCoy reunited Ukendt Kunstner and released the album Dankstop, which reached Number 1 on the Danish Albums chart. The albumâs single, âUden dig,â also reached Number 1.
