Biography

UK Decay is an English post-punk band from Luton, formed in 1978 as The Resiztors. After a lineup change and renaming to UK Decay, they released their first single "UK Decay" on the Split Single EP with Pneumania in 1979. In early 1980, they issued The Black 45 EP through Plastic Records, which charted for 15 months. They signed to Fresh Records and released several singles including "For My Country", which reached number 13 on the indie charts in September 1980. Their debut album, For Madmen Only, was released in December 1981. Despite their success, they disbanded in December 1982 due to extensive touring. Later releases include Nights for Celebration (2005) and Death, So Fatal (2007). They reformed in the early 2000s, releasing new material and performing live, adding the album New Hope for the Dead (2013) to their discography.
