Biography

Trío Calaveras, a Mexican bolero, ranchero, and traditional musical group, formed in 1931. Guillermo Bermejo Araujo, Miguel Leoncio Bermejo Araujo, and Raúl Prado founded the group professionally. They made a professional debut on September 15, 1937, at Cine Máximo in Colonia Peralvillo. They gained early recognition through participation in films like Las cuatro milpas (1937) and embarked on an international tour to Cuba, New York, Havana, Bermuda, and Nassau in 1938. Notable songs include "La feria de las flores" and "Fandanguito". They achieved significant success during the 1940s and 1950s with collaborations on films like El peñón de las ánimas (1943) alongside Jorge Negrete. They performed at El Jorongo in Mexico City from 1962 to 1987. Saldivar died in 1975, Prado died in 1989, Miguel Bermejo died in 1996, and Guillermo Bermejo died in 2003.
