Biography

Tout simplement noir was a French hip-hop group from the Parisian suburbs, formed in 1988 by J'L'Tismé, MC Bees, Demon B (later E Blaze), Parano Refré, and DJ Chaz. Tout simplement noir gained initial recognition through radio mixes and joined the Longue Posse collective for their first demo. In 1991, Tout simplement noir was featured on Olivier Cachin's RapLine show, leading to the release of the music video "Le Temps passe" and subsequent album Dans Paris Nocturne in 1995, which sold 15,000 copies. Their second album, Le Mal de la Nuit, was released in 1997, but Tout simplement noir faced internal issues leading to the group's disbandment in 1998. In 2009, Tout simplement noir released a compilation titled Classics. Tout simplement noir reunited for a final concert in Paris on October 23, 2010.
