Biography

Formed in California in 2000, Tomahawk is a Mike Patton project that can be seen as an alternative metal supergroup. The presence of Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard) on guitar, John Stanier (Helmet) on drums, and Kevin Rutmanis (The Melvins) on bass, is more than enough to merit this description. Experimental and corrosive, Tomahawk shines as early as 2001's Tomahawk. Mit Gas in 2003 and the conceptual Anonymous in 2007, as well as the combo's extensive touring, cement its reputation. Recorded under live studio conditions, 2013's Oddfellows emphasizes Tomahawk's most metal vein.
