Biography

Tokyo Dragons were a short-lived hard rock band from London noted for rambunctious performances. Friends since childhood, singer-guitarists Steve Lomax and Mal Bruk and drummer Phil Martini were joined by bassist Mathias Stady as they formed in 2004 and made the rounds of British rock venues. Influenced by flamboyant groups such as Kiss and Thin Lizzy, they chose the band's name to reflect the energy of their playing. Critics gave a warm reception to their first album 'Give Me the Fear', produced in 2004 by The Darkness producer Pedro Ferreria and released the following year, but it failed to chart. The band's first single 'Teenage Screamers' had one week at number 61 in 2004 with 'Get 'Em Off' spending just one week at number 75 and 'What the Hell' lasting two weeks to peak at number 59 in 2005. The band continued to play at festivals and rock venues and in 2007 released second album 'Hot Nuts'. Tokyo Dragons performed their last gig at London's 100 Club in September 2008 and disbanded shortly after.
