Biography

Tina Cousins is an English singer and model famous for a string of dance pop hits in the late 1990s. Born in Essex she grew up singing, learning her craft as the vocalist in a 1940s style big band in her teens. Through her twenties she performed with various bands and worked as a model. One of her demo tapes eventually found its way to producer Pete Waterman and she recorded a number of singles with him, including the hit 'Killin' Time'. The song caught the attention of Sash!, who invited Cousins to collaborate on 'Mysterious Times'. It reached number two in the UK Singles Chart and performed well in Europe, leading to two further top 20 hits for Cousins and her full-length debut, 'Killing Time'. Cousins joined Billie Piper, Cleopatra, B*Witched and Steps on the track 'Thank ABBA for the Music'. They performed the medley tribute to the titular group at the Brit Awards and released it as a single, cracking the top ten in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Sweden, Australia and New Zealand. Through the 2000s and 2010s Cousins continued to record and perform, increasingly focusing on Australia. In 2005 she released her second album, 'Mastermind'.
