Masterboy is a German Eurodance group founded in Baden-Württemberg in 1989. The band is the result of a collaboration between Tommy Schleh and Enrico Zabler. Later, singers such as Mendy Lee, Beatrix "Trixi" Delgado, Linda Rocco and Annabell Kay join the band. Masterboy combines Eurodance, dancefloor and techno to create a melodic club sound with rap parts and catchy choruses. At the beginning of the 1990s, the group became an established name in the European dance scene. The first single "Dance To The Beat" was released in 1990, followed by the debut album The Masterboy Family in 1991. The international breakthrough came with Feeling Alright (1993). The singles "Everybody Needs Somebody", "I Got To Give It Up", "Feel The Heat Of The Night" and "Is This The Love" became hits across Europe. "Feel The Heat Of The Night" reaches number 8 in the German singles charts and number 2 in France. The album Different Dreams (1994) climbs to number 19 in the German album charts. Generation Of Love - The Album follows in 1995. The single "Generation Of Love" reaches number 16 in Germany. Anybody (Movin' On)" and "Land Of Dreaming" also become club hits. Masterboy remains successful with Colours (1996) and songs such as "Show Me Colours" and "Mister Feeling". After several line-up changes, their popularity waned at the end of the 1990s. The best-of collection Best Of Masterboy is released in 2000. In 2003, the group initially ended its activities. Masterboy has been performing live at 90s festivals again since 2013. In 2018, the band released new material for the first time in many years with "Are You Ready (We Love The 90s)". In 1997, Masterboy receives the RSH Gold Award as Dance Act of the Year.
