Biography

'Til Tuesday is an American new wave band formed in Boston, Massachusetts. The group consists of Aimee Mann on lead vocals and bass guitar, Robert Holmes on guitar, Joey Pesce on keyboards, and Michael Hausman on drums. They gained initial fame six months after their formation when they won the 1983 WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble with their original composition "Love in a Vacuum", success which led to a record deal with Epic Records. Their debut album, Voices Carry, was released in June 1985 and featured the hit single "Voices Carry", which peaked at number 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The band won the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist that year. In November 1986, they released their second album, Welcome Home, which included the single "What About Love". Pesce left the band and was replaced by Michael Montes and their final studio album, Everything's Different Now, was released in November 1988, featuring collaborations with Matthew Sweet and Elvis Costello. The band disbanded in 1990 when Mann pursued a solo career. In 2025, 'Til Tuesday reunited to perform at the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, marking their first show in 33 years.
