Biography

Throes of Dawn is a Finnish metal band formed in 1994 by Henri Koivula and Jani Heinola. They released a debut album, Pakkasherra (1997). Their second album, Dreams of the Black Earth (1998), was recorded at Tico-Tico studio and released worldwide in 1999. A third album, Binding of the Spirit (2000), followed under Wounded Love. After a hiatus from 2000 to 2003, they regrouped with new members and released a fourth album, Quicksilver Clouds (2004), through Avantgarde Music. Their fifth album, The Great Fleet of Echoes (2010), was released by Firebox Records. They received acclaim for this album, including being ranked as the second-best Finnish album of 2010 by Inferno magazine and appearing on Friedhof's list of top 10 best albums of 2010. They released a sixth studio album, Our Voices Shall Remain (2016).
