Biography

This Day Forward was an American metalcore and post-hardcore band from Philadelphia, formed in 1996 by brothers Mike Shaw on vocals and Gary Shaw on bass guitar. They released their debut album, Fragments Of An Untold Story Born By Shunning The Opportunity, in 1999. The band later signed to Eulogy Recordings and released The Transient Effects of Light on Water in 2000. Former A Life Once Lost guitarist Vadim Taver joined the band for the release of the EP Kairos in 2002, which featured Thursday's Geoff Rickly on guest vocals for "Sunfalls and Watershine". The band signed to Equal Vision Records later that year and released their final album, In Response, in June 2003. Following extensive touring, This Day Forward announced their breakup in November 2003. In 2024, the band reunited for two shows in Philadelphia.
