Biography

Thinking Dogs are a J-pop band with a rock ethos formed in 2014 for the Inazuma Rock Festival, adopting their current name a year later. The band makes use of Western rock influences via their songwriting team of lyricist Yasushi Akimoto and tunesmith Kosuke Oshima. They signed to Sony Records off-shot Gr8! Records and released their first single 'The World Never Ends' in 2015. It was then used as the theme tune for the TV drama series 'Yamegoku: Yakuza Yamete Itadakimasu'. This TV relationship continued into 2016 with the group providing the closing theme, 'Sonna Kimi, Konna Boku', for the 'Naruto Shippuden' anime series. They continued to compose for TV in 2018 with 'Not Ai Kiseki', their theme for 'Mob Pyscho 100'. 2019 saw Thinking Dogs adding their brand of J-rock to the movie 'Fear Doll' with their single 'Spiral'.
