Biography
Wimple Winch was an English psychedelic pop band. Originally known as Just Four Men, they released three singles between 1964 and 1965. In 1966, the group renamed themselves Wimple Winch, incorporating heavier psychedelic elements into their music. They signed with Fontana Records and released three singles: "What's Been Done" (1966), "Save My Soul" (1966), and "Rumble on Mersey Square South" (1967). The band disbanded in mid-1967 following a fire at their rehearsal space, The Sinking Ship. After their split, the band released the compilations The Wimple Winch Story Volume 2: 1966-1968 The Psychedelic Years (1991) and Tales From The Sinking Ship (2009).
