The Third Sex was an American queercore band formed in 1993 in Portland, Oregon. The group featured Trish Walsh on guitar and vocals and Peyton Marshall on bass and vocals. They were part of the Riot Grrrl scene and played a significant role in third-wave feminism. Their first release was a self-titled 7-inch EP in 1995 on the Kill Rock Stars label. The band released their debut album, Card Carryin', in 1996 on Chainsaw Records, which included the single "Mombies". They toured extensively with bands such as Bikini Kill and Bratmobile. Their second and final album was Back to Go, released in 1999 on Chainsaw Records. The Third Sex reunited in 2010 for a benefit concert for Rock 'n' Roll Camp for Girls, marking their first performance together since 2000.
