Electronic music group The Soundlovers, from Italy, was formed in 1996. The band consisted of singers Nathalie Aarts and David "German" Leguizamon, along with producers Maurizio Molella, Gianni Fontana, and Roby Santini. Nathalie Aarts, born on November 6, 1969, in Breda, Netherlands, had previously worked with various artists before joining the group. The Soundlovers' debut single "Run a Way" was released in 1996, charting in Germany and Switzerland. Their second single "People", released in 1997, also gained European chart success. The band's first album People (The Album) followed shortly after. In 1998, the group released the single "Surrender", which topped the Italian dance charts for four weeks and remained in the top ten of the general sales charts for over two months. Kim Gallina, another member who contributed vocals, passed away in 1999 at the age of 26. The Soundlovers continued with Nathalie Aarts and David Leguizamon as the lead vocalists. In 2001, they released "Walking", their first single to be published in the United States. Subsequent releases included Hyperfolk (2003), Club Stars 2004 (2004).
