Biography

The Machine, an American Pink Floyd tribute band, was formed in 1988 by Tahrah Cohen and Joe Pascarell. Initially a cover band playing local gigs in Rockland County, New York, they transitioned to performing full-time after being approached by a talent agent in 1989. Their first album, Softly Spoken Magic Spells (1999), was a live concert recording from The Wetlands in New York City, including a performance of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon. The Machine has had several lineup changes, with notable members including Ryan Ball and Adam Minkoff. Joe Pascarell passed away on January 25, 2022. Their most recent album, The Symphonic Side of the Moon (2011), is accompanied by a live tribute performance of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon and included the song "Comfortably Numb" performed with a symphony orchestra.
