The Sights, an American rock and roll band formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1998, emerged from a local scene that blended traditional rock with energetic touring. The groupâs early work featured the single "If That's What You Want" (2001), followed by "Be Like Normal" (2003) and the "Sticks And Stones" track (2005), establishing their presence on the independent circuit. Their debut album Got What We Want was released in 2002, and the selfâtitled The Sights followed in 2005, both issued through Fall of Rome Records and New Line Records respectively, solidifying their discographic foundation. In 2010, Most Of What Follows Is True appeared under Alive Records, and the 2011 release 12 In The Bar continued their momentum. The 2012 album Left Over Right was issued by Hiros Rise Music, and the EP Silver/Gold had been issued in 2009. Throughout the decade the band toured the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, sharing stages with Tenacious D in 2012 and releasing a tour diary that gained Michigan Notable Books recognition in 2014. Their songs appeared in film and television, including "Circus" in Wedding Crashers (2005) and "Left Over Right" in Someone Marry Barry (2014), marking the groupâs cultural penetration without achieving mainstream chart positions.
