The Shakin' Pyramids were a Scottish rockabilly ensemble from Glasgow active between 1980 and 1983. The ensemble consisted of Davie Duncan, James G. Creighton, and Ken McLellan. They achieved professional recognition after being discovered busking in London and signing with the label Cuba Libre. Their recording career began with the track âReeferbilly Boogieâ (1980), which received the accolade of âSingle of the Weekâ from NME. They released the debut studio recording Skin 'Em Up (1981), which was recognized by Rolling Stone with a five-star rating. Their discography includes the extended plays Take a Trip (1981) and Tennessee Rock 'n' Roll (1981), and a collaboration with Lonnie Donegan on The Shakin' Pyramids and Lonnie Donegan EP (1981). Their discography includes the studio recording Celts and Cobras (1982). The ensemble became inactive in 1983. Their discography includes the live recording Reeferbilly Blowout (2001). Creighton died in 2021 and Duncan died in 2024.
