The Scissor Girls were an American rock band formed in 1991 in Chicago, Illinois. The group originally consisted of Azita Youssefi on bass and vocals, Sue Anne Zollinger on guitar, and Heather Melowic on drums. Their early years saw the release of a 7" single, "Phy, Diablo!", on Monkeytech Records in 1992. Sue Anne Zollinger departed in 1994, and Kelly Kuvo joined as her permanent replacement. Their first full-length album, From: The Scissor Girls To: The Imaginary Layer On Skeletons, was released in late 1994 by Quinnah Records and later released on CD by The Making of Americans label. With Kuvo, they released the EP So That You Can Start To See What S-T-A-T-I-C-L-A-N-D in 1996. The band disbanded before completing their third full-length album, leaving it unfinished in the studio. In 1997, Atavistic Records released a singles compilation following the band's breakup.
