The Real Milli Vanilli was formed in 1991 by producer Frank Farian after the fallout of the original Milliâ¯Vanilli duo. The group comprised vocalists Ray Horton and Gina Mohammed, who were brought together to replace Fabâ¯Morvan and Robâ¯Pilatus following the scandal that revealed the original act had not performed the recorded vocals. Their debut album, The Moment of Truth, was released in 1991 and entered the album charts, reaching the Topâ¯30 but failing to match the commercial impact of the earlier Milliâ¯Vanilli releases. The single "Keep On Running" (1990) and "Too Late (True Love)" (1991) followed, both issued under the The Real Milli Vanilli name and achieving modest chart positions. In the United States, the label released the material under the name Tryâ¯ânââ¯B, featuring Horton and Mohammed alongside additional members Kevin Weatherspoon and Tracy Ganser, with the album titled Try ânâ B containing reworked tracks from The Moment of Truth. Despite these efforts, the group did not replicate the original Milliâ¯Vanilliâs global success; no further albums were issued after the early 1990s. The project concluded without additional releases, and the members pursued separate careers, with Ray Horton and Johnâ¯Davis (later deceased in 2021) continuing as solo artists.
