Biography

Wonderboom, a South African rock band from Johannesburg, was formed in 1996 by Martin Cito Otto, Wade L Williams, and Martin Schofield. They were approached by Danny de Wet, leading to the formation of The Electric Petal Groove Machine. In 1997, they changed their name to Wonderboom. Their early releases included EPs such as Is It? (1996) and Never Ever Ever Ever... (2000). The band's debut album was Tell Someone Who Cares in 2003, followed by the EP Hoekom? in 2004. Subsequent albums include City of Gold (2006) and The Automatic Shuffle (2010). In 2009, Danny de Wet left the band and was replaced by Garth McLeod. Tragically, McLeod died in a motorcycle accident in 2013 and was succeeded by Jonathan Bell.
