Biography

The Pees are a Japanese three‑piece rock band formed in Tokyo in 1986 by college students Haruyuki Oki, Yoshikazu Abiko, and Shinichiro Sato. The group’s debut single, "バカになったのに", was released on 1989‑10‑21 under Victor, establishing their presence in the Japanese rock scene. Their first album, アンチグライダー, followed on 2004‑03‑03, marking a significant milestone after a brief hiatus that ended in July 2002. Over the years, The Pees released multiple albums and singles, collaborated with the band pillows on a tribute album, and toured extensively across Japan. They signed with King Records for several releases in the early 2000s, including Synchronized Rockers in 2004. The band’s continued activity through the 2000s, including the addition of drummer Shinichiro Sato, solidified their standing in contemporary Japanese rock, though no chart‑topping hits or major awards are documented in the available records.
