Biography

The Oktaves were a Filipino rock supergroup formed in 2011, comprising vocalist Ely Buendia of Eraserheads and Pupil, guitarist Nitoy Adriano of The Jerks, and members of Hilera: Chris Padilla on vocals and guitars, Bobby Padilla on drums, and Ivan Garcia on bass. Prior to their formation, Buendia collaborated with Hilera on the 2010 album In Love and War and contributed a Tagalog rendition of "La Paloma" for the film Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story. The Oktaves debuted live at Esquire magazine's inaugural ball in 2012, performing covers of various artists. They signed with MCA Music in October 2012 and released their self-titled debut album in February 2013, featuring the lead single "K.U.P.A.L." and a re-recorded version of "Bungo sa Bangin."
